The Cannabis Safety & Quality standards are now available.
Launched in 2020, the industry standard will provide consistent standards for the growing, extraction, and infusion of cannabis. They will promote industry best practices and improve the overall safety and quality of the cannabis market from seed to sale.
What are the benefits of being certified?
CSQ certification will improve your products quality, consistency and safety. which ultimately increases consumer confidence in your brand. Certification is evidence to investors, buyers and consumers that your business values them.
What steps do I take to become certified?
We will create and implement the policies, practices and verification activities required to become certified. We conduct all employee training and recommend a mock audit in order to ensure you are ready for the 3rd party auditor. As your trusted advisor, we will be present on audit day to navigate any terminology or technical questions.
We partner with auditing bodies and other professional services organizations who can support you along this process.
How long does it take?
Timelines vary by process and company but a realistic expectation is 30 - 60 days for the Operations Safety Manual to be created and implemented, including training. Keep in mind the auditor will need to review 90 days of verification logs on audit day, so a fair estimate is 4 - 6 months, then you re-certify annually.
